Overview

Mount Pumori is one of the premier 7,000M peaks in the Everest region of Nepal. The route follows the Southeast buttress before it traverses to the East Ridge for the remainder of the ascent. Requiring excellent physical endurance, Mount Pumori offers sections of wild exposure, views of Lhotse and Everest, with technical difficulty worthy of any Himalayan alpinist. Mount Pumori is a serious expedition peak designed only for experienced climbers. This attractive 7000m peak stands about 8.5 kilometers west of Everest and 4.5kilometers from Nuptse. Pumo means young girl and RI means Mountain in the Sherpa language. Mt. Pumori a dome shaped peak clearly visible from Rongbuk in Tibet also, beautiful shaped mountain, one of the popular mountaineering expeditions on 7,000 meters mountains. Mt. Pumori lies on the North Mid East of Nepal Himalayan range at near distance West from Mt. Everest, Expeditions Mt. Pumori base camp is on the same route to Everest base camp, till Gorakshep, from Gorakshep the path splits off towards north close on the way to Kalapatthar, the black rock ridge top at 5,545m very popular with trekkers for unparallel panorama views of the surrounding high snow capped peaks with the Khumbu glacier and Mt. Everest at mere distance, Mt. Pumori dominates the upper Khumbu valley of Gorakshep with few meters gap from Kalapatthar top. .
