Chitlang is an ancient Newari settlement in Makwanpur district which is a part of Narayani zone and 22 km far from capital city Kathmandu. This trip offers to get the chance to see the combination of the natural environment, beautiful forest, different varieties of cultural heritage, customs and tradition of an ancient Newar and Tamang community.

These trips start from the short drive from the Kathmandu to Thankot. The trail passes from the many temples with amazing wood and stone carving, artistic rest houses, stone taps, etc. Ancient Newari village is a beautiful village which is surrounded by a beautiful green forest, which consists of more than 160 species of birds and animal. The village was dominated by mostly Tamang and Newar people. They have different culture and tradition. Boating is the main attraction of the village located along the shores of the reservoir.
