Tour Details
Overview

Upper Mustang Circuit Trek is one of the most fascinating, exciting treks in all of Nepal due to its remote location, out of this world landscape, and vibrant culture. The Upper Mustang trek brings you into the hidden world of the old Buddhist kingdom of Mustang also called Lo. Lo used to be part of the Tibetan empire and is therefore closely tied to Tibet in culture, language and geography. This scenic trek offers diverse landscape from the deepest gorge of Kaligandaki to the high altitude region of Lomangthang valley full of barren tree-less landscape and rocky trail, surrounded by the beautiful snow capped peaks of Mt. Niliguri, Mt. Annapurna, and Mt. Dhalaguri. Upper Mustang trek is another world on its own with very distinctive landscape and culture different from other regions of Nepal. It is remarkable and arid world where grey-brown treeless rolling hill extends into the distance and where homes are built from sun baked mud brick, which remained intact for decades. Upper Mustang trekking is the capital of Upper Mustang known as Lo Manthang. On the way to Lo Manthang, trekkers can view the breathtaking wall of medieval capital from far distance. It includes a white-washed, 6m tall wall that was constructed to guard outsiders from invading. When you step into Lo Manthang, and you feel as if you are walking into another galaxy- A galaxy with restricted space, age-old chortens, long-renowned history, prayer wheels, and peoples’ lifestyle.

You can experience real Lobos’ culture, numbers of ancient monasteries with primitive monuments and the Kaligandaki valley (the deepest valley in the world). The mystifying

Landscapes of Mustang, alpine lakes, glaciers, mountain views and the Damodar Kunda Lake will be remembered for long. Also, you will be able to observe various kinds of fossils, visit the Holy Muktinath Temple, together with picturesque villages including Lo-Manthang, Charang, Ghami village.
